How many TVs do you have in your house?
Just one tv, in the living room. My mother has her own tv downstairs.

This is kind of hard to do because the things I like to spend money on most are not usually luxury items.
1) A satellite dish with Arabic channels.
2) The OED.
3) An iPod.
4) A cook.
5) An electric piano.
What does it mean to live well?

As in living well is the best revenge? For it just means living contentedly, feeling good about the choices you've made, having integrity in your work and relationships, being able to feel proud of what you do and and who you are.

99% of the time I use my first initial and last name. I've never worried much about anonymity. On the very rare occasions where I haven't used my name, I've used "maestra" or "lamaestra" - teacher/the teacher in Spanish.

I don't know, all of them? It's hard to pick out one and guess that it's impact was greater than all the other things that happened. But in terms of perspective transformation, definitely these -- inspired by Basil's comment:
Leaving the United States for the first time to spend two months in France made me understand what it meant to me to be an American and to see for the first time the things about me that were shaped by my culture.
Working with my students in my current job taught me what it means to be in the powerful class and to never EVER look at wealthier friends and consider myself poor.
Having my son taught me the fullest meaning of love and took away forever my sense of security.

What family member do you most aspire to be like? Why?

I don't have an answer to this one. I just aspire to be the best person I can be, according to my own strengths, weaknesses and inclinations. There are many things I admire about both my parents - my mother's gentle spirit and infinite generosity to her loved ones, for instance, and my father's sense of honor and integrity. Still, they're them and I'm me.
Which household chores do you most/least enjoy?

I don't like any chores at all. Except maybe fetching the mail. But sorting it and opening it and responding to it? No way.
