I was going to answer the candy question and this popped up.  I already play several instruments and speak a couple languages, if badly, so . . . if I could do one of them really really well, I'd speak a foreign language (Spanish?  Or Arabic?  Do I have to choose just one?) like a native speaker.  If I were a brilliant musician, I would probably have to work hard and perform a lot.

But let me tell you about candy.  I LOVE candy.  I've always loved candy.  My all-time favorite holiday?  Halloween!  Valentine's ran a close second because my parents would buy me a heart-shaped box of Russell Stovers, the highest quality of American commercial chocolates.  But for sheer quantity, i made out better at Halloween.  When I was a kid my favorite things were caramel squares and the $100,000 bar, which I think is still around.  And Milk Duds and Raisinettes with movies.  Sometimes I fantasize about going to a movie all by myself and loading up on candy.  I don't care about popcorn, and I would probably have Diet Coke (hah!  but I prefer my sugar in chewable form).  I love new candy, so if I go to a foreign country, I always try unfamiliar candy.  Mexico has wonderful caramels and nougats.  But I don't share their fondness for the tamarind fruit.  I like fancy European chocolate bars, chocolate fudge, an insanely, teeth-shatteringly sweet peanut-butter confection I tried in Brazil, divinity, pecan logs, things you buy in small plastic bags at convenience stores like "maple stacks" and orange slices - oh, how I love the orange slices.  Man, cavities are forming psychosomatically as I type this.
